Undergraduate Minor
In addition to successfully having completed introductory sociology, students must complete 30 hours of courses in sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences. As described below, fifteen of these hours must
be selected from the list of core courses; an additional fifteen hours must be elective courses.
Core Courses (15 hours)
Theory (304 & 305) 6 hours
Social Psychology (501 or 502, pick one) 3 hours
Inequality (484 or 373 or 328, pick one) 3 hours
Social Change (345 or 350 or 371 or 385, pick one) 3 hours
Electives (15 hours)
Any other in-department 200-600 level course beyond those applied to the 15-hour core course requirement and not listed below may be used to fulfill the elective requirement
for the minor. Non-departmental courses may not be applied to the minor.
Please Note: The following courses are not available to minors in Sociology:

492-93 - Issues in Medical Sociology
