Useful Information/Reminders for Faculty, Adjuncts, TA's, and RA's

Class Lists: each quarter you will receive class rosters. It is important that you verify students are in the correct class and section number.

Course Work Policy: please give Linda four (4) days to get your coursework typed and/or copied (especially those of you teaching large classes). During the academic year (but not during breaks or in the summer) we have a student worker (Shea Mathews) who comes into the office to assist with copying and other tasks. There is a work request sheet that should be filled out and attached to your work request. Please put all work requests in Linda's box.

If you type and copy your own syllabus, make sure that you give a copy to Linda. We do keep them on file in the department.

Grade Lists: you will receive a grade list at the end of the quarter from Linda. Please see instructions listed below.

Sign your grade list. Press hard when filling in the grades.

Return all copies to Linda. If you wish to keep a copy for your records, you must xerox a copy for yourself. The professor copy stays in the department file.

Return the lists to Linda by 10:30 a.m. on the day specified. The department has to get to them to the college by a certain time and they have to be separated and sorted before they leave the department. If the other grade lists have already left the department, you will be responsible for taking your own list(s) to A&S and Student Records (in Edwards), but be sure to give the "Professor" copy to Linda for the departmental records.

Scheduling the Microlab: please email or call Cheryl for scheduling and access to the social sciences microlab located in 616C Rieveschl.

Makeup Exams: there are times that professors/TAs have to give a student(s) makeup exams. Unless you are taking care of meeting the student and administering the makeup exam, please follow the instructions below.

Inform the student that they are to call Linda at 556-4700 in order to schedule a time for them to take the makeup exam.

Give Linda a copy of the exam, with the students name on it and any instructions on it for Linda (such as how long the student has to take the test). Instructions are necessary in case Linda is not here the day of the makeup so that Cheryl can take care of the student.

After the student has taken the makeup, Linda will put a note in your mailbox to pick up the exam from the office.

Change of Grade Forms: these are located in Linda's office. Use a ballpoint pen and press hard. Submit all grade changes to Linda.
