Professional Summary

Professor Eran Kaplan earned his Ph.D. in 2001 from Brandeis University. His publications include Jewish Radical Right: Revisionist Zionism and Its Ideological Legacy (2005), which was nominated for the Koret National Book Award; Zionism and the Yishuv: A Source Book, with Derek Penslar (forthcoming); and numerous scholarly articles. The recipient of several grants and fellowships, Dr. Kaplan’s research interests center on Zionism and Israel studies as well as the contemporary Israeli arts and culture scene. He previously held teaching positions at Boston University and the University of Toronto. He teaches courses on modern Jewish studies, general Jewish history, Israeli cinema, and Zionist and Israeli history.
