Professional Summary

Manfred Zimmermann teaches the language and literature of medievalGermany (750-1500). His main research area is the late medieval period.Author of Die Sterzinger Miszellaneen-Handschrift, an annotated editionof an early 15th-century manuscript, he also has published works aboutvarious authors of the Middle Ages and early modern times. Otherpublications include essays about contemporary English fantasyliterature. In recent years he has branched out into the field ofGerman-American Studies. He currently serves on the Executive Board ofthe Society for German-American Studies (SGAS). Recently he was elected to the Board of the German Historical Institute in Washington, D.C.
