Isabel & Mary Neff Scholarship
The purpose of the award is to recognize an especially outstanding woman in McMicken College who is pursuing a graduate degree. The Scholarship winner will have demonstrated superior performance in the pursuit of the degree in areas beyond strict course work.
The Scholarship carries no associated duties aside from full-time registration and conscientious pursuit of the degree. The Isabel and Mary Neff Endowment Fund will provide a stipend of $15,000 for nine months. A tuition scholarship with fees for the nine-month academic year will also be awarded.
The competition is restricted to women pursuing graduate degrees at UC in the disciplines encompassed by McMicken College. Applications should be compiled by department and must include the following:
- A statement of purpose by the applicant
- A statement of need by the applicant
- A curriculum vitae
- A letter from the department, nominating the individual. Only one applicant from each department will be considered; if necessary, a departmental committee should determine the department’s nominee
- Three letters of recommendation
- A current transcript
One award is envisioned for 2009-10. Please forward application materials electronically to Joan Fisher at joan.fisher@uc.edu by March 6, 2009. The winner of the Neff Scholarship will be announced early in April 2009.
