Faculty Achievements Overview

Efforts by A&S faculty for the 2008-09 academic year paid off in a successful round of proposals, publications, awards and honors.

A&S faculty were involved in submitting more than 148 proposals for 111 grants, three patent applications and seven invention disclosures. Government, corporate and private research funding totaled $10,802,467. Total external funding has increased 20 percent since 2004.

McMicken College faculty scholars published 45 books and 895 articles and book chapters, gave more than 883 presentations, and received 172 honors and awards in 2008-09.

Faculty in the Department of Classics were ranked number one in the country for faculty productivity. Paleontology is the seventh best geology graduate program in the country and philosophy regularly ranks in the top 20 programs as well.
