City of Cincinnati

Cincinnati
is a major mid-western city nestled in the Ohio River Valley. The downtown skyscrapers and sports stadiums are near the River and are surrounded by rolling hills and spectacular vistas. The riverfront is dotted with numerous fountains, gardens, and scenic overlooks and is the place where riverboats dock and entertain.

Cincinnati is a cosmopolitan city, home to a full range of cultural activities including a symphony orchestra, an aquarium, a ballet company, an opera, the world-renowned Cincinnati Art Museum, The Taft Museum of Art, and The Contemporary Arts Center, a world class zoo, and professional sports teams including the NFL Cincinnati Bengals (football), the Cincinnati Reds (baseball), and the Mighty Ducks (hockey.) Despite having all these entertainment venues, Cincinnati maintains a "small town" feel with friendly neighborhoods, inexpensive housing, and a minimum of traffic congestion for a big city.

The University is located approximately 5 miles from downtown. The campus has several large green spaces and quadrangles and is situated next to a 90-acre park. Cincinnati's landscape includes a mix of stylish old and new buildings and several architecturally-significant buildings; currently the most noteworthy is the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies, designed by Frank Gehry.
