Master of Science

Mathematics Master's Degree in Statistics:

Sequences in Mathematical Statistics (521-523, 9 credits), Applied Statistics (531-533, 9 credits), and Linear Models (613-615, 12 credits). GPA for the 30 credits must be 3.0 or higher
Three of the following courses (9 credits total): SAS Programming (534), Time Series (571), Reliability-Survival Analysis (572), Applied Bayesian Analysis (573), Non-Parametric Statistics (574), Robust Statistics (575), Topics in Applied Statistics (576)
Successful completion of at least one (1) quarter of Statistical Consulting
45 total credits from Mathematics courses (39 from the above).  GPA must be 3.0 or higher for these credits
Successful completion of an oral exam. Familiarity with Linear Algebra and/or Statistics, i.e. Applied Linear Algebra (555-556), is recommend

This new program was implemented in 2001-2002. Second-year students who started prior to that academic year are subject to the previous requirements.
