Open Positions The department invites applications for the following positions: 1. One or more visiting assistant professorships. These positions will be one year appointments, renewable for a second year. Priority will be given to applicants whose research interests overlap the research interests of department faculty. All positions are currently subject to budgetary approval. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is dedicated to excellence in both research and teaching. A strong research program and evidence of high-quality teaching skills are required for all positions. Applicants should apply electronically via mathjobs.org by January 15, 2007. All the above positions require a PhD or equivalent. Appointments will begin September 1, 2008. Inquiries concerning the visiting positions should be directed to Tim Hodges. 2. The department has a varying need for adjunct instructors to teach courses at the Calculus level and below in both the day and the evening. Contact Assistant Head Pat McSwiggen for more information. Applicants should have at least a Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or secondary teaching certification in mathematics with high school teaching experience.
