PhD Job Placement after Graduation
You will graduate from the doctoral program a productive teacher, scholar and writer. The University of Cincinnati maintains more than a 75% placement rate into full-time academic jobs for its doctoral graduates. Two-thirds of these positions are tenure-track. Institutions hiring our graduates have included such liberal arts colleges as Emory & Henry, Mercyhurst, Xavier, and the College of Mount St. Joseph, as well as such state universities as Middle Tennessee State, East Tennessee State, Cleveland State, Michigan State, and several two-year universities. Our graduates have also found full-time employment as editors and corporate writers and trainers.

- Tenure-track assistant professor in Creative Writing-Poetry at Clemson University in South Carolina.
- Fiction writing and contemporary literature teaching position at Centre College in Kentucky.
- Assistant professor of English at St. Andrew's College
- Fiction writing teaching position at Western Kentucky University.
