Darrin Doyle Fiction Reading

Darrin Doyle is the author of Revenge of the Teacher’s Pet: A Love Story (LSU Press, 2009), which the NY Times called “an original tale that earns its readers’ trust, and breaks their hearts a little in the process.” His second novel, The Girl Who Ate Kalamazoo, is forthcoming from St. Martin’s Press in January, 2010. His short stories have appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, Puerto del Sol, The Long Story, Cottonwood, Night Train, and other journals. Darrin Doyle earned his PhD from the University of Cincinnati and he teaches at Central Michigan University.


Adam Sol Poetry Reading

Adam Sol earned his M.F.A. from Indiana University and his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He is the author of three books of poetry: Jonah's Promise; Crowd of Sounds, which won the Trillium Book Award; and most recently, Jeremiah, Ohio. He lives in Toronto and teaches at Laurentian University.



Angie Estes and Kathy Fagan Poetry Reading

Angie Estes is the author of four books of poetry: The Uses of Passion, Voice-Over, Chez Nous, and most recently, Tryst. Prizes for her work include the Alice Fay di Castagnola Prize from the Poetry Society of America and the FIELD Poetry Prize.

Kathy Fagan's first book The Raft won the National Poetry Series Award. Her other books are Moving & St Rage, The Charm, and most recently Lip. She teaches at Ohio State University and serves as Poetry Editor of the literary magazine The Journal.

 


Dan Chaon Fiction Reading

Dan Chaon is the author of the newly released novel, Await Your Reply, the short story collection Among the Missing, which was a finalist for the National Book Award and You Remind Me of Me, which was named one of the best books of the year by The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, The Christian Science Monitor, and Entertainment Weekly, among other publications. Chaon's fiction has appeared in many journals and anthologies, including Best American Short Stories, The Pushcart Prize, and The O. Henry Prize Stories. He has been a finalist for the National Magazine Award in Fiction, and he was the recipient of the 2006 Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Chaon lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and teaches at Oberlin College, where he is the Pauline M. Delaney Professor of Creative Writing.


C.S. Giscombe Poetry Reading

C.S. Giscombe is Professor of English at the University of California, Berkeley. His books include Here, Giscome Road, and most recently Prairie Style, which won the American Book Award of the Before Columbus Foundation.
