Professional Summary

Dr. E. Edward Herman, Emeritus Professor of Economics at UC, has more than 45 years of wide-ranging experience working and teaching in the areas of economics, labor relations, collective bargaining, negotiations, and human resource management. Professor Herman has served as the head of the department of Economics at UC, and has also been a visiting scholar at MIT and Harvard University. In addition to teaching in the MALER program, he is a Fact Finder and Conciliator for the Ohio State Employment Relations Board, Register of Neutrals, as well as an Arbitrator at The American Arbitration Association. Professor Herman has published extensively and is the author of a number of books, including Collective Bargaining and Labor Relations, published by Prentice Hall, now in its fourth edition, as well as numerous papers and articles. Post retirement, he teaches the Negotiations course during the Fall quarter, which has always been a big draw with students in the MALER program as well as from CCM and the College of Business.
