Professional Summary
Debashis Pal joined the University of Cincinnati in 1994. Earlier he taught at the University of Texas - Arlington from 1990 - 91 and at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee from 1991 – 94. He is a dedicated teacher and an active researcher. He likes to incorporate current economic research into his teaching. He has published widely in economics and regional science journals. His work has appeared in journals such as Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Public Economics, and Games and Economic Behavior. It has also been cited in undergraduate and graduate level textbooks and in many journal articles. His current research focuses on the trade offs among incentive payments, fairness and equity. Professor Pal’s most favorite activity, however, is to spend time with his daughters, Ruku (9) and Reeti (14).

International Initiative: Developed an exchange program under which each year, a group of students from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration attend the University of Cincinnati during the Winter and Spring quarters and students from the University of Cincinnati attend the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration during the Summer quarter.
