ANTHROPOS

Anthropos is an undergraduate student organization that meets weekly in the student lounge of the Department of Anthropology. Recent activities include:

  • Assisting in the production of documentary films for the National Geographic Society, the Discovery Channel, and the History Channel
  • Fieldtrips to Ohio Valley archaeological sites such as Wind Cave, John Henry Griffith Cave, Great Salt Petre Cave, Sheriden Cave
  • Attendance at the 74th Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in Atlanta

Additionally, Anthropos sponsors the annual picnic at Shawnee Lookout Park, on campus events such as Native American concerts by award winning Cherokee singer and songwriter Michael Jacobs and Sky Hawk Drum, and high school recruitment presentations. Anthropos is also the primary conduit for student jobs, grants, internships, conferences, and awards.
