Honduras Mental Health Research Project

The southwestern Honduran state of Intibuca is one of the country's poorest, and it is also the location of a non-profit medical clinic established in the early 1990s as result of a partnership between local community members and health professionals at the University of Cincinnati. In an attempt to better understand and document the mental health needs of the poor rural population served by this clinic, Dr Jacobson has been working with colleagues and medical and anthropology students during yearly trips to the community. This project is ongoing and students with Spanish-language skills are encouraged to participate.
